Who is a saint (according to the Bible)

The word “saint”

in the Hebrew is    קָדוֹשׁ  “qadowsh

and in the Greek is    ἅγιος  “haggios

This word is usually translated  “holy” in the bible.  Bible translators have interchangeably translated these words “HOLY” or “SAINT”, but it is the same word and same definition.

The definition is:    “HOLY, SEPARATE, SET APART”

In Paul’s letter to the congregation at Corinth he wrote…

“Unto the eklessia of God which is at Corinth, to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, CALLED (to be)  SAINTS

(to be is not in original text),

with ALL that in every place call upon The Name of Jesus Christ our Lord…”

~ 1 Corinthians 1:2

The saints are those who have been sanctified by the KNOWLEDGE and BELIEF of the gospel and  BAPTIZED into Jesus Christ and the Covenant of Abraham (Gal.3:26-29).

In Paul’s letter to the eklessia at Philipi…

“Salute every SAINT in Christ Jesus. The brethren which are with me greet you.

All the SAINTS salute you, chiefly they that are of Caesar’s household.”

~ Phillippians 4:21-22

So we see here saints are MORTAL.

When Moses led the children of Israel out of Egypt, he wrote…

“Yahweh came from Sinai, and rose up from Seir unto them; he shined forth from mount Paran, and he came with ten thousands of SAINTS: from his right hand went a fiery law for them.

Yea, he loved the people; all his SAINTS are in thy hand: and they sat down at thy feet; every one shall receive of thy words.”

~ Deuteronomy 33:2-3

So here we see the saints are the children of Israel and again we see that saints can be mortal,

but there is also a FUTURE application to this passage of the saints in Glory.

YHWH Christ and his saints coming after Judgement Sinai

But first, those who are sanctified and in Covenant relationship with Yahweh will be Resurrected and Judged…

Daniel wrote…

“Many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, SOME to everlasting life, and SOME to shame and everlasting contempt.

And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.”

~Daniel 12:

And Daniel also said…

The SAINTS of The Most High shall take the Kingdom, and possess the Kingdom for ever, even for ever and ever.

~ Daniel 7:18

So the saints will be made IMMORTAL.

But we must be JUDGED FIRST

And here is also something very important note:

That authority has been given to Jesus Christ.  NO MAN has the right to judge who receives immortality.

“The Father… hath committed all Judgment unto the Son”:   ~John 5:22

Christ Judge01

“In THE DAY when GOD shall Judge the secrets of men BY JESUS CHRIST.”  (Romans 2:16)

Therefore it is said,  “we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ”.   ~Romans 14:10

All the real saints will be judged at the same time,  “On the Last Day…”   (John 6:40, 44, 54)

We shall all be “made perfect” TOGETHER (Hebrews 11:40)

Multitude Glory Rev7.9-10 850W

Revelation 7:9

“In a twinkling of an eye…we shall be changed…

For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.

So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.”

~1 Corinthians 15:52-54
