Aren’t some people wicked!   We must all be appalled at the dreadful events recently in Paris.  Would you shoot school children, or bomb a market place?  No, you wouldn’t – but why do some people commit atrocities like this?

Screenshot 2015-11-17 10.54.38 One answer lies in the fact that when God made the world He  gave people a choice. We are not like “puppets on a string.”  Nobody makes us do crimes against humanity. We have free-will.

The Bible assures us that man’s time is limited – but before that limit is reached people please themselves.

So some become doctors and nurses to save lives, while others become terrorists and commit heinous crimes.

But when is that limit to be realised?

In the past God overlooked such ignorance, but now He commands all people everywhere to repent. For He has set a day when He will judge the world with justice by the man He has appointed. He has given proof of this to everyone by raising him from the dead.”

And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent: Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead.
(Acts 17:30-31)

One of the worse crimes ever committed was when terrible people killed Jesus, God’s Son. But God raised Jesus from the dead, never to die again. This means that we too can rise again.

When God decides that it is time, He will send Jesus back to earth. Then he will rule the world righteously, and eventually sin and hate will be done away with.

This will bring real hope for a currently hopeless world.
