What does the Tabernacle, the Mishkan, represent?

Tabernacle mishkan

“Let them make Me a sanctuary that I may dwell in

According to all that I shew thee, after the pattern of the TABERNACLE , and the pattern of all the instruments thereof, even so shall ye make it. (Ex:25:8-9)

Sanctuary = “mikdash” (H4720), from “kadash” (H6942), “to be sanctified” , “set apart”
Tabernacle (Ex.25:9) or “Mishkan” (H4908) means “dwelling place, habitation, a residence”
Separation and Unity , leading to a “revealing” or “manifistation” of God
The detail & design of the Tabernacle was to be EXACTLY according to the Pattern YHWH revealed to Moses (Ex.25:9)
There are 3 main sections to the Mishkan that reveal the Divine Principles of Redemption in Christ.
1. The Court = Preparation (learning the Doctrine)
2. The Holy Place = Application (our walk in the Truth)
3. The Most Holy = Glorification (the end result we hope to obtain)
The Tabernacle with all its instruments all point to the Christ, therefore are to include those in Christ. As Jesus was the cornerstone, the sure foundation of this arrangement (Isa.28:16)
We are to be builders of this plan, “workers together with God” (2 Cor.6:1)
But not by force, only those “that giveth WILLINGLY with his heart” literally “whose heart impels him” (Ex.25:2)
Just like us. We were given a FREE WILL to worship The Creator, or not.

And this work is to be by both “MAN and WOMAN, everyone whose heart made them willing” (Ex.35:29).

YHWH said the PURPOSE of His Tabernacle or “Mishkan” is:

“that I may DWELL among them” (EX.25:8)

This Tabernacle was to travel with the children of Israel throughout all their wilderness wanderings. It was to always be in the MIDST of the camp. Minstered by the Levites/priests and encircled by all 12 tribes of Israel.
BUT TODAY THERE IS NO TABERNACLE! THERE IS NO TEMPLE!
SO HOW CAN GOD DWELL WITH US TODAY??
to “dwell” = “shakan” (H7931) is the verb of mishkan meaning “to dwell, to reside” , and signifies permanently,
which is Yahweh’s Ultimate Intention is found in HIS NAME-
YHWH
HE WILL BE” in what/whom He will be
His Ultimate Purpose it to MANIFEST HIMSELF IN US!
“Let us make man in OUR IMAGE and OUR LIKENESS” (Gen.1:26)
“To take out a people FOR HIS NAME” (Acts 15:14)
” that they might be unto ME for a PEOPLE, and for a NAME, and for a Praise, and for a GLORY” (Jer.13:11)
YHWH delivered the children of Israel out of Egypt, not only for their Salvation,
but also so he can REVEAL himself through them.
That ” All the people of the earth shall SEE that THOU ART CALLED BY THE NAME of YAHWEH” (Dt.28:10)
Even in this “earthly tabernacle” (2 Cor.5:1), that His Presence may be REVEALED IN US.
For “We are HIS WORKMANSHIP (what He has made)…” (Eph.2:10)

“Predestined to be conformed into the image of His Son…”(Rom.8:29)

YHWH “sitteth between the cherubims” Psalm 99:1
The Tabernacle , just like the Temple, became a SYMBOL of Yahweh’s PRESENCE “paniym” (H6440), literally “FACES” in the nation.
The Physical Representation of the Mishkan (EX.29-44-46) has a Spiritual connotation as well, as quoted in 2 Cor.6:16 :

“YE ARE THE TEMPLE of THE LIVING GOD; as God hath said, I will DWELL in THEM, and Walk in THEM, and I will be their God, and they shall be My people.”

This Hebrew word “TO DWELL” or “shakan” is where they get the word “shekinah” used to describe the DIVINE GLORY that can DWELL IN US.
” the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the GLORY which shall be REVEALED IN US.” (Rom.8:18)
This is the reward of the faithful in Christ.
The IMMORTAL SAINTS will be The Tabernacle in the Kingdom Age:

And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, THE TABERNACLE of GOD is WITH MEN, and HE WILL DWELL WITH THEM, and they shall be His people, and GOD HIMSELF SHALL BE WITH THEM,and be their God. ~Rev.21:3
