Unites States has began evacuating the tactical nuclear weapons they store in a southern Turkish air base, named Incirlik,  and are transferring them to US bases in Romania!

Turkey AB Incirlik Russia targets Isis

This is an earthshaking development in the Middle East for the United States while RUSSIA is rapidly expanding its air force in the region with it latest air base in Iran.

Military and intelligence sources report that the U.S. decided to remove the nuclear arsenal as talks broke down between American and Turkey on the release of 1,500 U.S. airmen who are clamped down at the base since last month.

In conflicting statements, Pentagon officials have claimed that the U.S. facility and personnel at the air base is over after the siege of the failed coup.

However,  DEBKA Weekly’s military sources  say that the siege continues on and off but “is no less threatening.”

There are 1,500 U.S. air force personnel serving at the Turkish base that must divide their attention between running operations in Syria and dealing with the next lockdown or power outage imposed by the Turks!  It has been reported that the Turks are purposely harassing the U.S. personnel also by taking armored vehicles into new positions around the base every few hours with convoys of heavy trucks circling around the base simulating siege tactics, deliberately causing jitters.

Furthermore, it is reported that Turkey was demanding to take part in the supervising of U.S. nuclear weapons stored at Incirlik stored in underground bunkers.  At first U.S. commanders tried to ignore these commands but with Turkey’s persistence, the Pentagon feared that this could become Turkey’s bid for control of the arsenal.   With an estimated 50 nuclear bombs at Incirlik, the U.S. felt they may not be able to maintain control of the weapons in the event of another civil conflict in Turkey, terrorists or any other hostile forces in the region.

We can expect America’s role in the Syrian conflict to weaken as Turkey strengthens its ties with Russia.
