JERUSALEM: THE UNITED CAPITAL OF ISRAEL

Irrespective of the views of the US President, Jerusalem was, is, and shall be the place where the Father has chosen to dwell. No human denial can abrogate that fact.No arrogance of present day rulers can nullify that decision. Jerusalem, Israel is the City of the future King and High Priest; it is the centre of the earth, from whence the law of the LORD shall go forth to the ends of the earth.

That intention is supported by such references as Micah 4:1 – But in the last days it shall come to pass, that the mountain of the house of the LORD shall be established in the top of the mountains, and it shall be exalted above the hills; and people shall flow unto it. 2 And many nations shall come, and say, Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, and to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for the law shall go forth of Zion, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.

There can be no mistaking this plain language of the Spirit.

He revealed this fact as early as Deuteronomy 16:2, which indicates that the LORD should, future to that day, choose a specific place for His name; it should be the centre of His worship:  Thou shalt therefore sacrifice the Passover unto the LORD thy God, of the flock and the herd, in the place which the LORD shall choose to place his name there.

We may rightly ask, Where was that place?

The answer is – Jerusalem, Israel. But the exact location was not made known until after David, the son of Jesse, had conquered Jerusalem and made Mount Zion the place of his throne, and thus the seat of God’s Name – for the kingdoms of David and of Solomon were the Kingdom of God at that time. A reference to this fact is found in1Kings 14:21 – And Rehoboam the son of Solomon reigned in Judah. Rehoboam … reigned seventeen years in Jerusalem, the city which the LORD did choose out of all the tribes of Israel, to put his name there.

Therefore, the present controversy over Zion is due to the sheer ignorance of the main players – or perhaps their unwillingness to allow the LORD to choose Jerusalem. A person born in Jerusalem today has listed as his place of birth, simply Jerusalem. The national designation is omitted by custom, which is inane and unseemly.

In any case, the City is THE holy city of Zion, the City of the Great King – the LORD, Jesus Christ – Who shall reign there forever and ever.  <HEL>

THE ONGOING SAGA OF IRAQ/ SYRIA/ASSYRIA.

In our view, the amazing progress of Islamic State (a.k.a. ISIS) must bear out the certain forecasts of Micah 5, and the Father’s intentions for these nations which oppose Israel and the LORD Jesus. This matter is progressing rapidly as is the approach of the Second Coming of Christ; the details given by Micah fit the present circumstances perfectly, and are the fruits of our hopes for many years.

Finally, the progress toward that fulfillment is visibly in view!

In contrast, many Bible scholars are concentrating on an event which they apparently believe will be “the next big thing:” the invasion of the Land by Gog of the land of Magog, along with his cohort. We believe these students are overlooking several factors, such as the eminence of ISIS and its intention of consolidating its power in Iraq and Syria (ancient Assyria), and moving south to conquer the Jewish state. In our view, the conflict which that will bring will also bring the return of the Master from the heavens, and His overwhelming conquest of those several enemies (listed concisely in Psalm 83), the details of whose overthrow are recorded in accounts such as Ezekiel 35, Isaiah 11, Obadiah, Amos 9, Zechariah 10-14, and several others.

We look at the account in Ezekiel 38 and 39 as relatively simplistic and straightforward if one can avoid imposing many other references which are supposed by some to relate to it, but which have no relationship to that conflict. Our advice is to study the tightly related and plainly succinct words of Ezekiel – and require that any other references comply strictly with this account as to time and purpose.

The fact is, there are no others! Ezekiel 38 and 39 are the whole magillah, and indicate NOTHING but the utter failure of the forces of Gog to attack successfully the State of Israel, which we believe is certifiably under the personal rulership of the LORD Jesus Christ at that time. The Gogian powers are mostly Islamic, except for its leader – and none of them are aware of the words of the LORD concerning their fate. Their willing ignorance of God’s word will not be accepted as an excuse for their aggression against the Kingdom of Christ – thus, their obliteration by the Father. <HEL>

RUSSIA FALTERS IN REBUILDING ITS EMPIRE

Meanwhile, the power centres in Russia demand a return to “Russia’s Greatness;” but the time for such an attempt is not yet ripe. Its avid ferocity and aggressiveness shall return in future – and its belligerence shall certainly be expressed in the conflict mentioned above – the War of Gog and Magog. But its duration shall be short and bitter to those haters of God’s people and those who covet their wealth and lands.

The recent fuzzy, indecisive moves of Vladimir Putin to restore some of Russia’s territory seems to be moving slowly and ineffectively; he is striving to keep the Russian army “out of it” officially, but it’s a hard task even for his present shadow forces to conquer Ukraine, after taking the Crimea in a few short days.

So the “glory” days of Russia are not yet to be. Having said that, Russia is surely making moves to consolidate its position with the future states of its coalition by becoming a “guard” to them in matters of military tactics and equipment – Ezekiel 38:7 – Be thou prepared, and prepare for thyself, thou, and all thy company that are assembled unto thee, and be thou a guard unto them. But greatness? Never!

Before Gog can cause Israel any discomfort whatever, the Almighty One shall roar from on high, wreaking upon Gog the curse of Ezekiel 39:4 – Thou shalt fall upon the mountains of Israel, thou, and all thy bands, and the people that is with thee: I will give thee unto the ravenous birds of every sort, and to the beasts of the field to be devoured. To the otherwise threatened people of Israel the saga is short and sweet, as wrought by the eternal vigilance of the LORD of Hosts, the lighting down of Whose arm brings certain destruction and oblivion to the vile enemies of the LORD.  <HEL>

THE BLESSINGS AND CURSINGS OF GENESIS 12

Astute Bible students stand in awe as God’s words (… I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee …) from thousands of years ago, spring to birth among the nations round about Israel who, because they curse God’s people, are cursed by Him, and are now engaged in killing each other in great numbers. The blessingsare universal for Israel (Abraham’s seed); and the destruction is universal for Islam and its haters of YHVH, the God of Israel.

Some might question our obsession with Israel. It is with good reason that we keep a close watch upon this newly re-constituted nation of God in the earth. This nationborn in one day (cf., Isaiah 66:8) is His new creation; it will lead to His People occupying the premier position of the First Dominion of the Kingdom of God on the earth(cf. Micah 4:8).

Leading up to that time, the Jewish people are the “apple of God’s eye,” indicating, of course that most sensitive of all human organs, the eyeball, which is so well protected by the orbital structures surrounding it and the highly reactive corneal reflex, which unfailingly and autonomically demands the inadvertent, instantaneous, tight closure of the eyelids against encroaching objects. The Father is just that sensitive to the requirements of His people of this day, witness the divinely guided protective measures that He has exerted on their behalf during the first 70 years of their Restoration.

Just as importantly, this is the time of the maturation of His blessings for them. Psalm 102 states clearly that there is “a time to favour Zion;” our reckoning is that that time has arrived. Of all generations, ours is most fortunate to be living in the time of the Almighty’s overt actions not only to gather, but to protect and preserve His endangered People – especially all those who have obeyed His injunction to “return unto Me” in expectation of the latter part of that phrase, “and I will return unto you,” as promised in Malachi 3:7. We know that this is the meaning of that commandment, because it has occurred in this specific way – that the people were being commanded to return “unto the children of Israel” meaning to go back to their Land – possible only since 1948 (see Micah 5:3 – then the remnant of his brethren shall return unto the children of Israel (i.e., to their Land, and that His “return” to them would follow in rapid order).

The “blessings” of the LORD have seemed long in coming to Israel’s remnants. But it is because their penitence had not fully run its course. Our view is that their down-treading has now been accomplished. Their star of good fortune is rapidly rising, shedding its brilliant light upon the nations in the physical blessings that Israel has brought to the people of the earth to date – advances in water management, medicine, military equipment, agriculture, jurisprudence, finance, and other beneficial aspects of its modern society.

These advances are due to be more than matched by the spiritual blessings that are to be shed abroad upon the peoples of the earth in the Kingdom Age that is rapidly approaching, when Israel shall truly be a light unto the nations.

Isaiah phrases it as follows: … and they shall declare my glory among the Gentiles. Isaiah 66:19. We await that day in patience, and with the reassurance of His mercy and compassion, which will allow the entry of millions of hopeful souls into that everlasting realm of happiness, holiness, health and spirituality. <HELafferty, MD/USA: code 6O>  July, 2015.
